I designed the "baby tux" image in 2003 for the gnubiff software which is a mail notifier (http://gnubiff.sourceforge.net) licensed under the GNU General Public License. It was a kind of exercice to learn Povray, a free and powerful raytracer. Later, in 2005, I designed the "baby gnu" as an exercice to learn Blender, a very nice and free 3D Modeler. I tried to make it in the same spirit as the baby tux in order to produce the GNU/Linux picture. The sub-title "Soft Revolution" idea comes from a great artist, Bruno Bellamy (http://neverland.net/bellamy/), who originally designed a nice tux on red background using this very statement. Hope you like them and feel free to re-use them for your own production. Nicolas Rougier. Thanks to Chris Colefax for the nice splice macro file. Thanks to Rune S. Johansen for the wonderful furtex macro.
